Based in southeastern Massachusetts and formed in 2015 by some of the area's most accomplished musicians, Hit Play has quickly earned a solid reputation as one of the hottest live wedding and event party bands in New England. The band’s leader, guitarist and singer, Ryan McHugh is well known in the Boston area for his ability to entertain a room by utilizing his 22 years of experience working professionally in the live music industry. Drawing on this experience, Hit Play performs in top club venues from Boston to Newport and at top wedding venues all over New England. The band is well known for their incredibly versatile repertoire - consisting of anything from rock, pop, funk, country, alternative and hip-hop to name a few. Ryan will work with you to select the perfect song choices for your event. Unlike most Boston wedding bands that have a set list of songs that vary only a little from one event to another, the band can call from a variety of genres during performances to perfectly fit the crowd and the vibe of your event. Music is one of the hardest choices for a couple during the planning process and Hit Play was one of the best decisions for our wedding! Ryan was organized, helpful, and flexible leading up to the big day which made me feel at ease. The band was super accommodating as they traveled 2 hours during a heat wave (98 degrees and rising) without a complaint or worry whatsoever. At an extremely reasonable price, Ryan was available for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Ryan’s smooth like butter voice serenaded the crowd with the best playlist curated mostly by the band with some guidance from us during the planning process. Most importantly our guests loved what Hit Play had to offer and never left the dance floor. Hit Play helped us create beautiful memories to reminisce on forever.

Ryan and his band absolutely blew all expectations I had out of the water. When it came to music and entertainment I didn’t have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day. Ryan was happy to help offer suggestions on intro songs when we couldn’t decide and it was exactly what we wanted. All of the guests danced the night away and had so much fun! I can’t wait to have an excuse to have another event so that we can have Hit Play come and perform again. Our day was absolutely perfect and a big part of that was due to Hit Play. Ryan and the band are excellent and absolutely made the night memorable. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

I cannot say enough good things about Ryan and Hit Play. They were the talk of the night at our wedding. ★★★★ Kept everyone on the dance floor...

We had Hit Play perform at our wedding. Ryan was so easy to work with. He was professional, responsive and a great lead vocalist/guitar player!! The entire band made the night memorable. They made the night extremely personalized and even gave us the option of learning some new songs for our wedding that were outside of the set list. They played back up as my dad sang a punk rock song at the end of the night which he was so appreciative of. All of our guests commented on how they were the absolute best band they had seen at a wedding!! So many of the guests were asking for their info. The band played a wide variety of genres, kept everyone on the dance floor and were able to read the room the gage what the guests wanted to hear. Call them now! Reach out! Book them!
