Based in southeastern Massachusetts and formed in 2015 by some of the area's most accomplished musicians, Hit Play has quickly earned a solid reputation as one of the hottest live wedding and event party bands in New England. The band’s leader, guitarist and singer, Ryan McHugh is well known in the Boston area for his ability to entertain a room by utilizing his 22 years of experience working professionally in the live music industry. Drawing on this experience, Hit Play performs in top club venues from Boston to Newport and at top wedding venues all over New England. The band is well known for their incredibly versatile repertoire - consisting of anything from rock, pop, funk, country, alternative and hip-hop to name a few. Ryan will work with you to select the perfect song choices for your event. Unlike most Boston wedding bands that have a set list of songs that vary only a little from one event to another, the band can call from a variety of genres during performances to perfectly fit the crowd and the vibe of your event. We had Hit Play perform at our wedding. Ryan was so easy to work with. He was professional, responsive and a great lead vocalist/guitar player!! The entire band made the night memorable. They made the night extremely personalized and even gave us the option of learning some new songs for our wedding that were outside of the set list. They played back up as my dad sang a punk rock song at the end of the night which he was so appreciative of. All of our guests commented on how they were the absolute best band they had seen at a wedding!! So many of the guests were asking for their info. The band played a wide variety of genres, kept everyone on the dance floor and were able to read the room the gage what the guests wanted to hear. Call them now! Reach out! Book them! Hit Play played our wedding of approximately 75 people in September. Throughout the planning process, Ryan, the band leader, was incredibly responsive. We had several meetings in the months/weeks leading up to the event to iron out details and discuss logistics. On the actual day, the band did a fantastic job taking our do-not-play list and developing a perfect set list for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The dancefloor was packed the whole night despite the relatively small number of guests. Book without hesitation.
