Based in southeastern Massachusetts and formed in 2015 by some of the area's most accomplished musicians, Hit Play has quickly earned a solid reputation as one of the hottest live wedding and event party bands in New England. The band’s leader, guitarist and singer, Ryan McHugh is well known in the Boston area for his ability to entertain a room by utilizing his 22 years of experience working professionally in the live music industry. Drawing on this experience, Hit Play performs in top club venues from Boston to Newport and at top wedding venues all over New England. The band is well known for their incredibly versatile repertoire - consisting of anything from rock, pop, funk, country, alternative and hip-hop to name a few. Ryan will work with you to select the perfect song choices for your event. Unlike most Boston wedding bands that have a set list of songs that vary only a little from one event to another, the band can call from a variety of genres during performances to perfectly fit the crowd and the vibe of your event. With nearly 400 songs to choose from and state of the art sound system and uplighting, Hit Play will make the night perfect. When you book Hit Play for your wedding you will not only get an incredibly energized performance, but also unparalleled service throughout the entire planning of your event. Ryan was easy to communicate with. Together we made a plan for the evening; he was willing to move around our venue to create just the right atmosphere. Ryan provided cocktail-hour music from the porch, dining music on the lawn, and of course dancing music under the tent. Ryan definitely knows how to keep the dance floor energy up. We had a blast dancing with our friends and family.

We cannot say enough about Ryan and Hit Play! We hired them for our June wedding in Massachusetts and they completely blew us away. They had the dance floor packed the entire night. The energy and excitement from the band was contagious and the music was exactly what people of all ages wanted to hear. Ryan was professional, on top of things, and so easy to work with. You will not regret hiring them for your big day!

You cannot go wrong booking HitPlay as your wedding band! Ryan, the leader, was extremely responsive and easy to work with. Everyone was so friendly and the band was absolutely amazing. We had everyone on the dance floor and the band was really interactive with our guests too. Seriously, one of the best vendors I worked with out of all of our wedding planning, would book them again a million times over!

We had Hit Play at our wedding in Massachusetts on 9/25/2021 and they were FANTASTIC! Ryan was so great to work with throughout the whole process and made sure all of my requests were played throughout the night! They are great at choosing songs that work with the crowd and everyone at my wedding was on the dance floor the whole night!! Really....no one sat down! We couldn't recommend them enough.
